It's a terrible way of doing things and it's a shame that Sony continues the bad habit. This assumption that Microsoft doesn't have anything because they have been quite is dumb. There have been "leaks" here and there and when E3 comes they will go into more detail. Sony on the other hand will talk about games we knew about two years ago and will do a couple of surprise announcements on things that will get released two or three years from now. The thing is if Sony had released Killzone in '06 or '07, I would likely have a PS3 now, since everything seems to take 4 or 5 years, I've lost interest.

I just want to my previous comment above add that ...

I just want to my previous comment above add that releasing games with the new controller input for the Wii is just another example of Nintendo milking the consumer and not wanting to put effort into creating all new games.

(signed schphinter/LevelHead)

This E3 should show what the future lies for all t...

This E3 should show what the future lies for all three. Microsoft can either keep relying on 3rd party developers or actually have their own identity because this isn't going to sit well for their next platform at this pace.

Sony realizes they must prove themselves. They have the most expensive platform and the most momentum coming from last generation. They are starting to build back that momentum but the problem they face is the Xbox 360 at their heels. When you have another system showing 80% of the same games looking and playing the same as well this puts undue pressure on games like Killzone 2 to prove itself.

As for Nintendo? I hate them as a company but commend them for sticking to their own vision and concentrating on a different market. However as a gamer they they little for me and they don't seem to care. They care about one thing, money. Why not inve4st that money in a better online service? Why not invest that money into more IP's of their own instead of 2 or 3 games a year? The answer is easy, they don't have to.

Totally agree with what you're saying on the platf...

Totally agree with what you're saying on the platform front in that Microsoft's target audience is way to large and they need to specify more on a particular group of people rather than everyone in the general sense, while Sony's games have generally been for more advanced people after they get bored of playing Mario Kart for the 100th time in a row [even though Mario Kart is highly addictive]. In any case, Sony's game have been just a bit too specialized for the average American family and thus where being that specialized might become their downfall. The average mom is most likely not going to buy Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty for their child, but rather turn to light hearted games like those of Nintendo. With the hardcore gamer audience taken and the light hearted kid games taken, what choice would Microsoft have, but to spread themselves thin in order to try to rival with both Nintendo and Sony. In the case of the E3 audience, Sony will most likely win at E3 because of the hardcore gamer audience that they gear towards. However in a general sense it's not really the audience at a convention that justifies the popularity of the game, but how many mainstream people they can get to buy it.

.... I dunno if that even made sense...... Doing this half asleep results in rambles most of the time....

Nice work on the post, btw.
